Gleeson highlights the importance of this approach, "To be able to just throw open the door and say, 'come on in, you're more than welcome.'"

Karen O'Mahony, CEO of Rainbow Club Cork, a support organization for young autistic people and their families, shares her experience. She and her family were able to attend a relaxed performance of the annual Christmas panto, which significantly reduced their anxiety. O'Mahony states, 'Having the opportunity to go to a relaxed performance... reduces the anxiety around trying something new.'
The Opera House has also developed visual guides, including social stories, to help families navigate the event. These guides provide essential information, from introducing the cast and storyline to directing attendees to the box office and bathrooms. This level of detail is crucial in making the experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
